His full name is Charles Roger Hargreaves. He was born in Cleackheaton, Yorkshire, England in May 9 of 1935 and died in Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, UK in September 11 of 1988 (aged 53 years old).
Roger was a british author and illustrator of children's books, notably the Mr. Men and Little miss series, intended for very young readers. The books' with simple and silly stories, with bright-coloured, boldly drawn illustrations, have been part of popular culture for over 25 years, with sales over 85 million worldwide in 20 languages.
